Back-to-back Zoom calls. Debating whether to shower. Realizing that showering is the only time you really get to yourself. Cheese. Can’t stop eating cheese. Must stop eating cheese! Not to mention the state of your highlights. And you’re getting a little tired of being so tired. And will the kids ever go back to school so we can go back to normal?
We asked our favorite panel of experts (our very own staff) to talk about how they’re filling their days as they stay home. From exercising to collaging, we give you StriVectin at Home, a very personal take on how to navigate business unusual while balancing work/life:
I’ve been doing lots of thinking about starting an exercise routine. Just thinking about it, I haven’t done it yet. We’ve also been cooking lots of yummy food, comforting stuff like soups and roasts. The best thing about all of it is getting to spend so much time with my husband, Greg. He even did a Multi-Action Blue Rescue Clay Renewal Mask with me the other day, and I’m glad I’m stocked up on my Comforting Cream Cleanser and TL Advanced™ Tightening Neck Cream PLUS. Oh, and wine…wine is helping
This is the best time to focus on mental and physical health. I’ve been streaming my H.E.A.T extreme workouts online. Thankfully, I’m able to use my backyard to exercise and get some air. (I’m sure the neighbors are laughing at me from their windows)
We are also enjoying all of the DJ’s that are hosting “quarantine parties” live on Instagram. It’s not often we get to party alongside Beyoncé to DJ Questlove on the 1’s and 2’s. My favorite is DJ D Nice, check him out on Instagram.
I’m also taking advantage of all the things I don’t typically have time for like a real skin detox session. My favorite is enjoying the cooling sensation of the Supergreens Soother™ Cooling Gel Mask. The aroma is incredibly soothing, and the cooling sensation feels like magic. This product is now a staple in my “me-time” moments.
I’ve been craving movement at this time, so I’ve been doing at-home Pilates and yoga with Melissa Wood (@melissawoodhealth) a few days a week. She has the most amazing positive energy that keeps me motivated to keep my body moving. In the past few weeks I’ve been super diligent with my skincare routine and I think incorporating face masks a few times a week has made a huge difference in my skin. After a workout I’ll shower and apply Multi-Action Blue Rescue Clay Renewal Mask to purify followed by our Cloudberry Moisture™ Plumping Cream Mask for a boost of hydration. I have plenty of time so there are no excuses to not multi-mask.
During this time of self-isolation, I’ve been painting, collaging and exploring the materiality of different medias and how together they create connections and self-narratives when combined. I’ve also been joining virtual drawing sessions and taking pictures around my neighborhood in Queens which has kept me sane and in touch with other people (from a distance) of the NYC boroughs to across the world.
My morning beauty routine has been refined to reflect the new commute to the couch from the bedroom. I have been lessening some steps and taking away others (who needs fuller eyebrows when only your cat and fiancé are seeing you?), but two steps I find necessary are my targeted solutions: Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes and Double Fix™ for Lips Plumping & Vertical Line Treatment. With the added screen time throughout the day, the blue light protection of Tripeptide Gel-Cream save both my under eyes and my sanity while the Double Fix™ keeps my lips looking their best with the – slightly – increased coffee intake throughout the day.
I am getting through my days by drawing and watching travel vlogs. I haven’t used my artistic skills in a while, so it’s been a great opportunity to create things at a time when everything is on pause. Travel vlogs have also given me the opportunity to see the world beyond what’s outside of my bedroom window!
My favorite skincare product right now? I would say Glycolic Skin Reset Mask. I leave this product on for just 5 minutes a day, twice a week, and I instantly have vibrant smooth skin. I also enjoy using Re-Quench Water Cream Hyaluronic + Electrolyte Moisturizer because it’s a nice alternative from the traditional heavy cream moisturizers. The product has a nice scent and absorbs quickly into my skin.
